I put together decor for an Owl-Themed Birthday Party. This low-budget, last minute event turned out being pretty darn adorable. Read on to see what I did!
Luckily, I am a big fan of owls and so is the birthday girl. This means that I was able to pull from a lot of my own household decor for this one! Here are some photos.
I put together various owl knick knacks and artwork, and placed pictures of the birthday girl throughout her life in jeweled frames around the room – you may recognize these as the same frames I used for Alice in Wonderland quotes for my Mad Hatter Tea Party.
I also put together some fake flower bundles to add create a bit of a garden vibe, and placed these around the room as centerpieces. These were pretty mix-and-match, but because I hadn’t really chosen any specific colours for the decor for this event, it worked well.
I have to say, the thing I am probably most proud of from this event is this awesome “40” that I created out of cardboard, various colours of tissue paper, and hot glue. It was cheap and simple, and I’ve shared my directions on how to make these for yourself here.
I have made letters like this several times. They are great for birthdays, graduation parties, and New Year’s Eve photo booth props. It’s easy to customize the colours and sizes of the digits as needed, and they don’t take too long to put together. For this specific event, I used just a multicolour selection of the tissue paper I already head, and I think they turned out looking great.
Have fun planning your own owl-themed party! There were so many other cute ideas on Pinterest that I just didn’t have time to pull together for this particular event, but many of them would not take too much time or effort. You can get really creative with some simple craft supplies for this theme.
Let me know what other ideas you come up with for an owl-themed party in the comments!
Cheers,
KG
